ATX™ Astronaut Training
Have you ever imagined yourself at the controls of the Space Shuttle? Feeling the g-forces of spaceflight? Or preparing for launch at Kennedy Space Center? Make that dream become reality on the ATX programme.
This exciting introduction to Astronaut programme is designed to prepare you for the riguers of spaceflight and combines hands-on training activities and simulation experiences. You’ll hear first-hand from veteran NASA Astronauts and space exploration educators and the programme culminates with a full scale Space Shuttle Mission simulation.
Your ATX programme includes:
- Motion-Based Spaceflight Simulators
- Full Scale Space Shuttle Mission Simulation
- Astronaut Briefing and Question & Answer Session
- Snacks and Beverages
- ATX Gear (including Mission Polo Shirt)
ATX runs every Saturday. There are two time slots available. The morning programme starts at 8.30am and is completed by 1.30pm. The afternoon programme starts at 1.00pm and is completed by 6.00pm.
All participants must be at least 14 years or older and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Some height and weight restrictions apply on certain simulators. Participants should be free of neck and back injuries.
The ATX Astronaut Training Ticket does not include entrance to the exhibits at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex – you must purchase an Admission Badge or a Space Pass should you wish to explore these areas.
